Creating Classes and Other Fun Things...

I have to admit something to you all. I am a bit overwhelmed. Not in a bad way, not in a "can't get this done way", just a "oh I have this, and this and this to do" way. Coming off of Christmas, getting a class schedule ready, in the midst of birthdays, family, and some very INTENSE machine and software training has been challenging. So forgive me, I thought I'd have this ready to go pronto, but alas, such is life. I am creating a PDF so that you may be able to print it out, and link it here, as well as Facebook if you do that sort of thing. Also I will be sending out e-mails. (My daughter was supposed to be the tech guru in this endeavor, but her schedule hasn't lent itself to this, wondering if I can hold her new driver's license hostage in exchange? Hmm, something to think about there.)

I will be kicking off the first sewing class on Saturday the 24th. It is the Reversible Commuter Bag class. The cost is $35, including the pattern. Any supplies purchased here will earn an extra 25% off, making your new bag a little more cost effective. We will be doing this on all classes, regardless of who may be teaching it. You can sign up by calling or coming in, and classes need to be pre-paid for a reservation. Our machines will be available for use, just let us know if you need one.

Party Like a Sewing Star will be held on the last Friday of each month, which means that this month it is January 31st. Come in at five, bring your own project, a bite to share, a friend or six, and sew the evening away. There is no cost, we just wanted our space to be an inspiring, happy place to be, get to know our customers, and generally have fun with everyone. :)

Post Christmas, almost New Year...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Our family has been blessed in so many ways. This year saw our family of five, increase to six, with addition of another teenage girl. She is such a graceful sweet girl. We are so lucky. Our Christmases are usually pretty chaotic, but this time it was a little calmer. I didn't put the usual expectations on myself, and it turned out to be such a good thing. This OCD girl was able to set it aside this year. Maybe a sign of things to come? The kids were spoiled, we were spoiled, {happy sigh} loving life.

The shop is coming along fabulously. More fabrics come weekly, and January is a huge month of fabric arrivals for us. Lots of Andover, Michael Miller, Westminster… We are working on our class schedule, which will start up the end of January. The customers have been wonderful, and it is great to see and meet new people. We saw some machines go to new homes, and it has been a terrific send off for the year.

I will update this blog regularly, and post the classes here as well. It's so easy to link it to Facebook, and a great way to keep "in the know". :)

Enjoy your day!

Work In Progress!

Starting a new business is a crazy amount of work. I'm excited to get going on a fun new blog, but please bear with me. It will be an evolving work in progress for the next couple of weeks while my uber awesome graphic designer works her magic. I know that right now, it is B O R I N G. It will be wonderful, I promise. The shop will be wonderful too. Can't wait for you to see it. Well heck, I can't wait to see it. The new flooring is going in, the paint going up, new electrical appearing right where we need it. We are shooting for a mid-November launch, with grand opening scheduled for the week following Thanksgiving!

I feel like I am planning for the biggest party of my life. Thanks for joining me in the adventure.

Enjoy your day!
